Just Another Day In Tulsa

Just another day for all those who live in and/or have an interest in things going on in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I will express my opinions through this blog, as well as posting some things that I find interesting, which may include issues that go on within Tulsa and Oklahoma - as I gather some of my thoughts and perhaps even entertain you.

James Garner Turns 78

James Garner, whose real name is James Scott Baumgarner, was born on April 7, 1928 in Norman, Oklahoma - the son of an Oklahoma carpet layer.

He is well known as a TV and movie start, most notably from playing in the famed TV western "Maverick" and later Jim Rockford in "The Rockford Files."

He lied about his age and joined the U.S. Merchant Marines at age 16 during the Korean War. He became wounded in action and won a Purple Heart.

Married at 28, he has one of the longest marriages among Hollywood stars -- almost 50 years. Garner first came to fame on the TV western, Maverick.

Happy Birthday Jim!

Do You Think Tulsa Will Improve?

So where's the beef?

Do you think that Kathy Taylor can make the changes that she has expressed during her campaign for mayor?

Will she be able to establish a plan to improve the hard issues of criminal behavior in our city and reduce the number of murders being committed?

Will Ms. Taylor bring economic growth to Tulsa that extends past that achieved by Bill LaFortune?

What challenges do you think she will have to face and will she be able to work with the new city council to form a more representative government of the citizens of Tulsa?

What is your overall opinion of where Tulsa has been, where Tulsa is now, and what is Tulsa's future?

I really want to know what you think about these and other questions that may come to mind!

Where Should We Live?

Eventually my wife and I want to leave Tulsa and settle down somewhere that we can kick back into a retired life and enjoy.

Does anyone have any suggestions? If so, just leave me your comments.

Thanks.

Rick

Blonde Joke

A blonde dropped her car off at with a mechanic and then returned after a couple of hours.

"Did you figure out the problem?" she asked.

The mechanic responded, "Not a real problem to fix. Just crap in the engine."

The blonde turned her head sideways, as she said with a smile, "Gee, if you could show me how to do that, I could save having the time of having to bring it in and bother you next time."

(Okay, maybe it's not the greatest one, but what the heck!)

Do you know this about Tulsa?

Did you know that Tulsa is "a slut" spelled backwards?
